This is our living room that I didn't have alot to with but if you look you can see our free TV from our neighbors on top of a bunch of random stuff from a buddys room. Then there you can see the pile of cables from the cable guy. We're running some high speed internet with the "biggest basic cable." I don't know what that means but thats what he said.

Now on to some of the things that I have been doing. On Thursday I recived my last pay check from F and F trucking through direct depoist and I felt a little bit easyer about paying for a high dollar meal. Some of you may know that I have a theory about how chick-fil-a is bettering the world with their quick service, awesome food, and excellent sauces. Well this theory was just proven thrsday night while I ate 700 miles away at a chick-fil-a that not only matched the awesomeness of our FL spots but surpassed all of my expectations. I was given my food before I even got my change from paying and I was then given refills of the best lemonaid ever, by the manager himself. Needless to say I had a good night. It was everything, but it wasn't magical, what can I say its TN.

Now you may be thinking "That meal is way more then five bucks. Is the food at the only chick-fil-a in TN that much cheaper?!" Well no its not. So before you all start packing your bags to move down here you should know that my good time was held on a friday night and was even better then thursday's night.
On friday my instructor was talking about some of the local drag racing tracks here in Nashville. Well when school got out that day I didn't have anything to do since I had already gone to Starbucks and spent my last two dollars of my gift card. (Thanks Jess) So I decided to try and find myself This drag strip. Well all of my room mates have fancy GPS deals that their parents bought them to get them all around down town. I only have my devil friend the internet to show me where to go. After I wrote down about a page of dirictions I left early to go find the place. I had to drive about thirty miles but ten of those miles was through the most beautiful country a had ever seen. Huge houses and old churchs were all along this little twisty road. I still made a few wrong turns but got there with plenty of time. When I arived I was blown away by one of the coolest places I had ever been. There was perfect weather that night too. It even got a little chilly.

I had never been to any kind of race before except go karts. So i was really in for a treat on this august test and tune night. It was an eighth mile track and they were runing everything from rail cars to sport bikes to some guy who stole his wife's car. (The car seat was still in the back)
Here are some of the things I got to see run.

The dark bule drag car had the best time of the night. He ran the 8th mile in 4.98 secends. the second best time was a suzuki hayabusa that did it in 5.09 doing 128 mph. Here is a picture of a guys truck that did really well. He told me that he had ten grand just in the engine.

It was all this and much more for only five bucks.
You're getting great at posting those pictures, my frugal son! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to come up there and have you show us around Nashville. I'm so excited about your adventure, and so thankful you're sharing it with us here!
Five bucks a good time? This so goes against my life training. Miss you! <3

I feel like I can hear you telling all these stories.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, maybe it's 'cause you just did. :) Still envious of your twisty mountain road experiences!
This visual learner is so thankful for pictures! Still miss you!
I read your blog to Ben and he laughed :) He liked looking at the drag race pictures. We want to make a trip to TN! Everything is so pretty up there. :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you like your classes?
Right now I'm just doing wireing so its kind of boring and hard at the same time. I like the way the school is set up though and I think I will be alright here for awhile. If you guys came up I would definitely show you more then one way to have a good time. Tell Ben I said hey.
ReplyDeleteOh my giddy aunt, Tyler, I want to be at a drag race right this very moment. I am totally coming up with Jessie at some point (whether she likes it or not)!
